Ostara

In my house, we also celebrate Ostara, which is the pagan holiday from which Easter is adapted. It has a lot of the same religious meanings, but for us, it is celebrated earlier. It is the celebration of the Spring Equinox, which occurs about the 21st of March. The energies of the Earth quicken as Spring begins to reach its peak. Fertility of the Earth is visible everywhere as the Goddess fully awakens and the God continues to mature. On this day, the lengths of the day and the night are equal. After this, the days will be longer than the nights.

This is a time to begin new projects, to begin to garden and to plan for the year ahead.
